A women-only home, not an institution.
Shared rooms with one to three other residents, your own bed, dresser, nightstand. Staff on site 24/7. All women welcome, including transgender women.

60–120 days of structured treatment.
Daily groups, one-on-one counseling with a certified SUD Counselor, 12-step recovery, trauma-informed care. Length is set by your needs, not a clock.

Transition to our 10th Step House sober-living, plus a lifelong alumnae network — the Butterflies. Your counselor builds a discharge plan with you.
What a typical day looks like
Days start at 7:00 a.m. with meals, household responsibilities, clinical and educational groups, individual counseling, and 12-step meetings. There is also unstructured time for self-care, fellowship, and rest.
Many of our staff are in recovery themselves — they know the way because they have walked it. From the morning you arrive, a Big Sister (a current resident) helps you settle in.

If your primary issue is drugs, not alcohol
Our program is licensed for alcohol use disorder, but many of the women we serve are dealing with both. If drugs are your sole concern, we will pre-screen you and help you find the right program rather than send you away with nothing.
What happens after the program
Women who complete treatment may move into our 10th Step House — a self-governing sober-living home (not a licensed treatment facility). Your counselor builds a comprehensive discharge plan with you, covering housing, employment, education, and continuing care.
You also become part of the Butterflies, our lifelong alumnae community.

- A real plan for after: 10th Step House sober-living, community resources, family reconnection.
Family contact and visiting
We honor each resident's confidentiality. With her consent, we can include family in defined parts of her care.

What we are not — and what to do if she needs more
We are not a detox facility, a hospital, or a long-term housing program. If she needs medical detox first, or a higher level of care, we will help you find it.

ASAM 3.1 & 3.5, 60–120 days, women only.
Adult women 18+ with primary or co-occurring alcohol use disorder. Length individualized via ASAM criteria. DHCS-licensed since 2018.

Medi-Cal contracted, no client turned away.
San Diego County Behavioral Health Services contracted. Serves Medi-Cal and Medi-Cal-eligible. No woman declined for ability to pay.

Intimate residential setting (not institutional); more than five decades of continuous operation in San Diego — over 3,000 women served since 1970; staff who are themselves in recovery; and an active alumnae network (the Butterflies) providing peer mentoring and continuity rare in the field.
Continuing care & what we don't provide
Continuing care: graduates may transition to our 10th Step House — a self-governing sober-living home. Note: 10th Step House is not a licensed treatment facility.
Outside our scope: medical detox (withdrawal management) and primary drug-only treatment without alcohol involvement. We will assist with onward referral if a different level of care is indicated.
How to refer
Call admissions at 619-233-0067. We will screen, conduct an ASAM-criteria assessment, and confirm medical necessity. If we cannot accept immediately, we will assist with alternative referral. We communicate with referring professionals throughout treatment and during discharge planning.
